  • Avoid taking rejection personally – For happier individuals, rejection is protection.  They know that life will provide them with what they need.  So when you get rejected in life, it only means that the future holds something better for you.
  •  Don’t worry about finances and money more than what are necessary – Happier individuals know that they will receive more in return by giving more to others.  Therefore, it is safe to assume that these individuals are very generous.
  • It isn’t necessary for others to like you – Talk to anyone who is a happy person and they will all tell you that they don’t need the approval of others or for others to like them.  This is by no means selfish.  In fact, this type of self-confidence can be infectious and attract others.
  • Never apologise for your desires – Happy individuals are oftentimes accused of being selfish, but the reality is that they are not afraid to focus on their goals in life and achieve their dreams in the process.
  • Put yourself first – Self-love is not an act of selfishness.  As the old saying goes, you cannot love others if you do not love yourself first.  By taking care of your needs first, it enables you to be a total person and you will be able to help others.
  •  Realise that there is a time and place for everything – Understanding this concept puts you at peace with everything in your life.  Life’s bigger plan for you is comprised of experiences, jobs and relationships.  Happy individuals realise that you have to strike a balance between holding onto those things that serve them and letting go of ones that do not.
  • Try to see the equality in every one and every situation – Don’t waste time condemning other individuals, pointing out their flaws, or judging them.  If you can appreciate the diversities in life you will be able to celebrate those contrasts.
